REAL WEDDING: Sarah and Chris

Designing Sarah and Chris’s wedding at The Felt Estate in Holland was such a treat! In a wedding season where whites, greens, and blush continued to reign supreme, this couple was not afraid of color. From the very beginning, Sarah and Chris had expressed their desire to work with Windflower Design Co, a first for us, and they did not disappoint!

We chose a color palette of muted ivories and taupes, with beautiful pops of marigold yellow, orange, slate blue, rust, and poppy red. The style was contemporary with a little whimsy, and the floral arrangements were organic and airy. It was such a fun combination to pull together with our vendor partners.

My favorite memory from Chris and Sarah’s day was the few moments I spent with Sarah and her parents as they prepared to walk down the aisle. There were some tears and lots of nervous laughter, but I remember the sense of pride and immense happiness that radiated from Sarah’s parents. It was one of those moments as a wedding planner when you are snapped back into the present, away from the constant thoughts of timelines and details, and able to simply enjoy all the hard work that went into the day.
